(CNN) -- An oil platform off the coast of New Orleans exploded Thursday, killing one person and injuring three others, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement said in a press release.
The platform was not in production and no pollution was reported, according to the bureau.
The Echo Platform -- located 12 miles off New Orleans -- is operated by Houston-based Fieldwood Energy.
